Non-Pharmacological Pain Management for MS

نُشرت في الأربعاء، 1 يونيو 2022

Effectiveness of non-pharmacological rehabilitation interventions in pain management in patients with multiple sclerosis: Systematic review and meta-analysis

A systematic review and meta-analysis assessed non-pharmacological rehabilitation interventions for managing pain in MS patients. Findings from 29 studies showed significant reductions in pain intensity with neuromodulation, transcranial direct current stimulation, mind-body therapies, mindfulness, hypnosis, trigger point therapies, and cognitive behavioral therapy. However, relaxation therapy showed no significant effect. These results suggest non-pharmacological interventions are effective, safe, and accessible tools for MS pain management, offering alternatives to pharmacological treatments.
